East Spencer clothing store to host free Breast Cancer Awareness Month lunch – Salisbury Post

EAST SPENCER – In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, InspirU Apparel is hosting a free Saturday lunch from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. for anyone who has lived or currently has breast cancer.

“It’s really recognizing those who are suffering from breast cancer, those who are battling breast cancer and who are just trying to cheer them up and keep a positive vibe,” said LaChelle Hines, store owner. East Spencer.

Lunch will be held at the InspirU store at 935 S. Long St.

To coordinate the event, Hines appealed to a number of local businesses who made material or monetary donations. Even some of InspirU’s customers contributed to help Hines organize the lunch at no cost to attendees.

“InspirU is about inspiring people, so we just wanted to inspire a group of women who have been through this,” Hines said. “We always try to reach out to the community to let them know that we support them. “

The menu will include fried chicken, meatballs, sandwiches, salad, macaroni and cheese and more. A dessert bar will be stocked with candy apples and other sweets. Free gift bags filled with a shirt, mug, journal and more will be distributed to those affected by breast cancer.

The keynote speaker for the lunch will be Linda McCree. Cancer survivor Joy Miller will be a special guest.

“She’s a breast cancer survivor so she will talk about her journey about how she’s been through and how she’s going through it now,” Hines said. “He’s a very positive person. She is full of energy.

Tanica Washington and Dileika Wilson-Ballard, co-owner of Timeless Wigs and Marvelous Things, plan to perform a dance routine. There will also be prayer and the reading of psalms and a release of balloons.

The lunch sponsors are Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Olive Garden, Kiddie Land, Marvelous Wigs and Timeless Things and Greater Joy Church. Tara White donates clothes from her brand. More information can be found by calling Hines at 704-232-8412.
