That means bargain hunters missed out on sneakers and top sportswear brands this morning, on the biggest shopping day of the year.

The company took to social media to confirm the news.

He said: “Happy Black Friday everyone! our website is currently down, we are working hard to get our site back up and running, please hang in there!

Buyers took to Twitter to complain the site was down.

One said: “The Footasylum website went down lol.”

Another asked, “Hey guys your website crashed due to Black Friday… when is it going to restart? “

The problems seem to have started around 8:30 am, when fans asked on social media, “Website down? ”

Another asked, “Is your site down or frozen?” Really struggling to add to cart or even access the site.

At around 10 a.m., the site was operational again.

Still, it was a bummer for consumers who got up early to start their Black Friday shopping.

Earlier this week, coupon codes offering 10% off the site were available.

And this morning, the TopCashback cashback site was offering up to 15% off purchases at the retailer.

A newsletter sent out by the retailer this morning advertised Nike Womens Air Max 2090 sneakers at £ 69.99, up from £ 129.99.

Other deals mentioned include the Adidas Originals NMD R1 sneakers at £ 69.99 instead of the usual £ 109.99 and a tenth off the Adidas Womens Hyperglam leggings, now at £ 24.99.

The Sun has contacted Footasylum for comment.

The company is owned by JD Sports, another street favorite for sports equipment.

Her website is still up and running, so anyone desperate to shop for athletic clothes or sneakers this morning might be looking there instead.

JD Sports was among the retailers to launch some of its Black Friday deals earlier this year.

He slashed Nike clothing by up to 50%, including £ 35 off Nike React sneakers.
