The Ministry of Textiles today extended the deadline for submitting applications under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) program for textiles until 14.02.2022. Previously, the date for submitting the online application under the PLI Scheme for Textiles was until January 31, 2022.
In December, the government had approved the PLI program for textiles, with an approved expenditure of ₹10,683 crores for five years to promote the production of MMF garments, MMF fabrics and technical textile products.
The ministry had started accepting online applications for textiles from January 1, 2022, through the portal pli.texmin.gov.in/mainapp/Default. Previously, the application window was to remain open from 01-01-2022 to 31-01-2022, but now the deadline has been extended for another two weeks.
The PLI scheme in textiles was approved in September by the Cabinet which had approved the proposed Production Linked Incentives (PLI) scheme for specific segments of the textile sector. The scheme for specific segments in the textile sector had been given the green light by Cabinet in September.
Under the PLI scheme, factories based around aspirational neighborhoods or Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities will be given priority, which will particularly benefit states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
